Mend Matsui VX1108 Video Recorder Security Code

how can I get past the security coding on Matsui Model VX1108?

My disabled friend had a power cut. Since then we cannot retune her Matsui VCR VX1108, Serial No 111-0X11993A. She thinks the vcr is 8/10 yrs old. The Screen that comes up is a "protected" screen that says "This video belongs to" and the next line is blank. She no longer has the handbook. She also lost Channel 5 at the same time, but we've tuned this in ok; Has anyone any ideas how to solve this???

Matsui Matsui VX1108 Video, Cassette Recorders Video Recorder Security Code Matsui

a simple phone call to a service agent ,they keep records of the codes.The original code will unlock it ,you just need to ring a service agent.Or look online and there may be a service manual online.I found one online for an lg vhs and it unlocked it from a sight online.But service agents will have the original code which will set it to default and unlock it.I hope this helps

The message `THIS VIDEO BELONGS TO` is displayed
On the front of the video hold channel up button and press QTR for about five seconds, this should unlock the machine
