Mend Hoover 920 Elite Hose Machine

hoover 920 elite?

I have just connected my waste hose to run over my lawns and have noticed the machine keeps syphoning itself out and then refills itself,not sure if this happened when it went down the drain but it does now..only happens once it hits the spin cycle,,my question is..Is this Normal?
