mercedes vito van?

i dont know nothing about mechanical things but i had the same problem my van wouldnt rev above 3000 rpm but today i noticed a wire that had come off on a sensor above the air filter it has a vacuum pipe going into the bottom and three wires going in to the front after connecting one of the wires that had come off to this sensor the van now works hope this helps p.s. the van doesnt run over 3000 rpm when stationary you need to be moving this is what the dealer told me this is a fail safe device let me no if this helps thanks . and good look
