Mend Hoover 1400 Sensor Working Code

How can I fix my Hoover 1400 AAA Sensor Dry - Dryer not working : E11 code ?

Have tried on low setting and high setting, but washing not drying. Any ideas?

Just fixed the same problem on a HOOVER WDYN755DB . N fault code showing but not drying clothes. One of the small white buttons on top of drum pushed in when I touched it . Working fine now.

Mine is a later VHD model, same E11 code wouldn't clear unable to drain or open door.

Similar fix, remove top cover the temp sensor (just clips together) had actually popped out of its recess, the wiring still intact and connected but sensor fallen apart.

I put sensor itself back together with a tiny amount of epoxy and used a small washer on the fixing screw to keep sensor in place.

All working perfectly. Just very poor quality/design of sensor.
A new sensor is around £10 from espares.com if you really want to replace it.

Hi Followed the info given by the others - took top of machine and saw the red wires attached precariously to the drum. Gently pulled and one came away. So pared the wire back, pushed it back into its terminal and hey presto machine now working. Took 5 minutes saved me £120 - I am a female with not much DIY knowledge - Thanks to all who added comments in the past

Unplugged the washer-dryer, opened the top, fiddled with all the visible connections, switched it back on - Working! Assume a dodgy connection somewhere inside.

Does anyone know the actual name of that "spade" connector or where I can get one from?

I have the same problem but can't find that small white connector anywhere!

Thank You! I got the E11 code, couldn't find my manual so I tried here. Your answers were exactly what I needed. The little red wire had come adrift. I stripped it and pushed it back in and hey presto it worked.

Have had this error on and off for a few months, (only when using washer, not drier)-after seeing the above solutions my husband took the top off the machine and exactly as described above, one red wire had come out of the connector. We bought a new "spade" connector from washing machine spare shop (15p) and fixed it! Very easy to fix!!

Hannah had the same problem as us - two trip switches trip out if you stop the drying programme in the middle. This has happened several times to us.
I fixed this by removing the top (3 nuts to undo at the back, and the top slides off) and then pressing in two small white reset buttons attached to two wires in about the middle of the machine. They are about 3mm, white buttons, and if you press them and they click in, they have tripped.
This seems to be like a common design fault in these machines.
Note that I am just an amateur DIYer, so please take precautions!

I have just fixed this problem and wanted to show anyone with the issue how irritatingly easy it was to fix. Most annoying because I had the problem fixed (by an engineer) a week before the guarantee expired and then it happened a month later. The engineer said I was in the way when he came so I didn't see how he 'fixed' the machine the first time how it was done...

Please be warned, opening up your machine will probably invalidate your warranty so think carefully before you do so. In my case it had already expired.

Unplug the machine completely. Undo the two nuts in the top corners of the back of the machine. Slide the top 'lid' from front to back exposing the drum. At the front of the machine there is a plastic sheet and when you fold this back you'll see two red wires (possibly) loosely connected to the drum. In my case, one of the wires was hanging off. Poke it back in et voila!

Just had my machine repaired by a Hoover/Candy engineer. E11 error code is shown when the dryer thermostat is faulty. I don't know how expensive or difficult this is as it was covered by my service agreement, but it didn't take long to fix.

we had the same problem - apparently it overheats if you use it too much! i.e. tumble dry straight after wash and stop/pause in the middle of a cycle and trips out. had engineer out 3 times all he did was took lid off and pushed the two reset buttons! having problems with it stayin on the last one minute cycle now!!

we experienced exactly the same.

the motor of the fan (blowing hot air in the tumble) got stuck.

they gave us a new one (machine not motor)
