Mend Fellowes xrx-8x Turn Seconds Switched

How can I fix my xrx-8x shredder?

The blades in my shredder turn for about 2 seconds and then stop when it is switched to forward or reverse.

Does it run in auto Ok.. but not forward or reverse?
Mine is touchy on the saftey switch .. not enough pressure I think.

BTW does the 8x shredder require oil? I have no manual.
