Mend Kenmore 90 Washing Machine Freely

Kenmore Series 90 washing machine control knob spins freely?

The control knob on my Kenmore series 90 washing machine won't engage; it just spins freely and you can't set the washer to any functions. I removed the knob covering and there isn't a standard screw to tighten the knob. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. How did you remove the knob, I'm to the point of ripping it off but don't want to buy a new washer yet.
