How can I get the bobbin thread raised in my Singer 478?

Either the needle is blunt or bent, or the machine needs retiming, or the gear has broken that drives the raceway, take the top off the machine and look at the cream nylon gear to see if it has broken, if that is okay take the bottom off the machine so you can see the gear under the raceway area, if that is okay then it will be retiming, email me and I will attach instructions, type my address as you say it not as you see it.
