how to repair electric cooker?

The element is sort of OK until it gets warm and pieces of it begin to expand with the heat and then something nearly touches something it should not be touching and a spark jumps between them and runs to ground and the RCD on the consumer unit senses the leakage to earth and trips off.

A new element might cure the problem - but you already knew this I guess...
