In this very cold weather, many condensing boilers suffer from the condensate pipe freezing. It's quite often too skinny, and unlagged, though still adequate for more normal temperatures. Clearly, a bigger diameter pipe doesn't block as easily.
Anyway, you can easily test if it's blocked with ice by pouring a kettle of very hot water over the length of the pipe to melt the ice blockage, easily done (till the next time!)
