how to fix maytag model a209?

a couple of days ago i started a cycle and to water just never shut off and it over flowed and i have know idea what could be wrong

Hello,

Start to fill the washer and after a minute or so, unplug it. Does the water stop with the washer unplugged? If not, you need to replace the fill valve because it will not close properly. Hope this helps.
