Mend Hoover WDM120 Washing Machine Repair Seal

The drum on my hoover wdm120 wont turn freely!!?

I have just replaced the door seal on my hoover wdm120 washer dryer which had perished. I have tried to rotate the drum before i turn the machine back on and its not turning freely!!!! The drum and the seal doesnt look like its aligned properly but i have checked several times that the seal is fitted correctly. Have i uncovered a more serious problem or am i missing something very obvious.... Any help would be appreciated....

put your fingers under the stainless inner drum at 6 o clock position now try lift the drum vertically to the 12 o clock position.if it moves upwards the bearings are shot!
