Craftsman LT1000, No Spark?

Thanks Guys. I replaced the module and it runs fine. In found a hot wire that had made contact with the ground and it shorted out the module. Thanks again for keeping me on track. Matt.

The Craftsman Mower is a good one. I have had an 82 model 14HP with Briggs motor for 23 years and mow a little over an acre.Never have had to replace anything but the ignition module, plug and belts. Deere mower parts just cost more and break down as often as any. I had the same problem with mine and turned out to be the ignition module, the part that the plug wire is part of that reads the flywheel.About $60 several years ago. Easy to get too, every good parts house that carries mower parts will have it or can get it. Good Luck! USA

That one wire is the kill wire. Make sure it isn't cut or shorting to ground anywhere. The do sometimes rub or burn through against the engine. If it's grounding out you won't get any spark.

I removed the plug and went through all of the spark test, and nothing. I found it odd that the armature had only had 1 ground wire going to it. I guess I'm too used to automotive firing systems. Thanks for the reply. Matt.

Either a bad plug or a faulty ing module ,,,,,,,neither expensive
