Re-Toshiba VHS Video Recorder,model V642UK?

After a short power cut of about 20 mimutes, when the power came back on, on the above vidio recorder was showing the following, -------, I tried to bring up the main menu, no luck, all i can do is with the remote control switch from stand by to on, what gone wrong.John Mattison
