MAINS POWER CABLE?

I NEED TO FIX THE MAINS POWER CABLE, AS I ACCIDENTLY WENT OVER IT WITH THE HOOVER. ALTHOUGH JOINING TOGETHER ALL THE WIRES, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE WORKING!!!
