Samsung American style fridge freezer?

The compressor is really making a very loud noise but when I open the fridge's door it stops. The noise will restart as soon as the door is closed.

Am I expecting problems ahead.

mine is doing the same thing, and its just started in the last wek even though we have had it for two years. Could this be the compressor????

HI Linda, this sounds like the door activated switch working. It turns the cooling fans off when the door is open..so all the cold doesn't get blown out and then starts them again when the door is shut..there is normally a 10 second delay though before they com back on. So shouldn't be a problem.
