I cant wind the bobbin. i did as per the manual
(i have done it before several times but this never happened)
after a few turns the winding stops and all the machine lights beeps and blinks. switch off power and start again, the same thing happens.
Please help me i have rolls and rolls of curtain material to be sewn.
I switched out the bobbin. You want the Class 15J bobbin. (It has two holes on either side.) The one I was trying to use looked very similar, but had only one hole per side.
This worked for me, at least!

I own 3 of this model and one model 7462 (for classes), ALL of them have stopped working for rewinding a bobbin. I took one into shop and it cost almost $90 to repair, and has failed again after less than 30 hours use.

When I had problems with the bobbin serveral months ago, I took it to the shop.
I used a bobbin from my other Singer machine 5525 and the repair technician advised that's why it wasn't working properly. No problem after I purchased several bobbins for the 7462.

Hello Bobby,
If the bobbin is winding normally but then suddenly stops for no reason. if nothing is jammed in the raceway then it is not a mechanical problem which will mean a shop repair unfortunately, if the machine is sewing as it should on zig zag the a definite shop repair because the machine has not gone out of time.
