Mend Singer Sewing Needle Mechanism

Singer "Swing-Needle" machine given up the ghost !?

Using my machine earlier on today , it suddenly stopped, I thought the bobbin wanted rewinding, but now the needle seems to catch on the bobbin mechanism underneath. Changed the needle several times, but will not run. Any ideas.

Hello Babs,
When you said that it will not run what exactly did you mean ?
is the needle hitting on the raceway ?, what model do you have ? have you put the needle in the correct way round ? may sound silly but you would be surprised how many people do it, if you can either e-mail me or post a brand new question then I can help.
