how can i stop my dishwasher stalling mid-cycle? ?

how can i reset my dishwasher to the original settings or do a test run to find out why it keeps sticking when in a hot cycle. when it 'sticks' it seems to repeat a quick burst/turn of the cleaning arm every 1-2 seconds and stops again, never moving on. It is a Candy CDI 2012 Grateful for ANY help!
