My Philips Tv turns on,changes cannels & adds volume by itself?

My Phillips did the same thing. It started by just turning on whenever it wanted. Then, it started to change volume...always up. Then, it started to change channels. Came home from work a couple of times with the volume at 99. A friend of mine just bought a Magnavox (Phillips) and is having problems with it coming on in the middle of the night. Neither of us have been able to determine how to remedy it and no one has been able to tell us what the issue could be.

if its one of the later flat screens there is a possibility that the cpu is faulty especially if the set is on standby all the time, if you are not a tech forget fixing it yourself. good luck

There is a Demo mode on some Philips TV's activated/deactivated by pressing the MENU button on the TV for more than 6 seconds.
