Hitachi 42PD6600?

The picture disappears when the Hitachi 42PD6600 TV is on, if I bang the back of the TV fairly hard it comes on again, it may stay good all evening or the picture disappear again and it requires another bang

Is this a dry joint of some sort or other problem?
