Mend Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 LS 02 Fault Plate Driving

vauxhall vectra 1.8 ls 02 spedo fault?

i have just bought a vauxhall vectra 1.8 ls 02 plate i was driving home from buying and the spedo stopped working the rev counter still works and the petrol and temp still works i hope you can help the digital part still works but not clocking up miles still same can you help

Sounds like the speed sensor in the gearbox has packed up, Very easy part to replace but not sure of the cost,
