Mend Ford Escort XR3i Battery Going

1988 Ford Escort: Battery going flat when not used fo a few days. ?

XR3i battery going flat when car not used for a few days. All usual checks made. I find that when I remove the indicator flasher unit there is no problem. New battery fitted, flasher unit chanded, altenater tested and lots of other checks
