How can I fix my Russell Hobbs steamglide 2200?

My iron is not producing the steam anymore when the steam button is pressed. It is making the noise as it does when re filled, but steam is not being produced. There is also a green light on on the base with a symbol next to it which i do not recognise, no handbook.
