FAULTY SCART SOCKETS ON GOODMANS 285NS?

I have a Goodmans TV 285NS. It's old but works perfectly, except for the SCART sockets which work intermittently and only after a lot of persuasion and patience.
Has anybody experienced the same problem and is there anything that can be done to rectify?
