my dishwasher does not drain?

It may be that the drain pump has failed but it might just be trapped food debris under the impeller blades - you can sometimes examine these relatively easily from inside the machine.

On my machine I took out all the filters at the bottom and after hand draining the water from the sump there was a single Torx (star) screw at the very lowest point. Removing this and the cover it held in place exposed the impeller blades - lemon pips and other crud were jamming the blades - tweezers helped get the debris out.

The blades should move freely with a bit of magnetic resistance.
