X Type Jaguar 2.5?

I have an X type Jaguar 2.5, i have just replaced the batteries in the key, but the doors will still not open or lock using the key fob, any suggestions please?

you have to recode it and then it should work Well that is what we had to do

put key in ignition turn on and off 4 times press the lock button on the remote turn ignition on and off again and remove key
