Not sure if it will be the same as on my Vectra, but give it a try: First of all I would also suggest replacing the battery inside the fob. This is done by prying the 2 halves of the fob apart. Next, put key in ignition and turn on electrical power (not until car starts). While key is in this position, press the button on the fob which would normally open the doors. Hold finger on button for a few seconds. This should re-set the key fob. However, if the fob went through the washing machine it is more than likely kaput (as any electrical item would be).
