zanussi fridge freezer problems?

freezer appears to be working fridge not getting cold

theres seems to be a gassy smell in the room of the fridge, seems to be working ok, noticed it now 2 days on the trot and does seems to disappear, does this mean the frigde is not working properly and could it become a hazard ?

f/freezer o.order. stopped f/f 24hrs t/on again comp & therm kicked in, waited 6hrs &still not working

auto defrost problem.to prove this defrost manually for 24hrs and then switch it back on.if it all appears to work again but fails in a few weeks you know you have an auto defrost issue.
