rover 400 electric window?

i had the same problem, cr*py rovers no wonder they have gone bump. I solved the problem by doing the window al the way down, i then brought it back up guiding it into the seal with my hand lucky for me it happened in middle of winter thus it been cold and no reason to do the window down i sold as seen the car on autotrader the next week forgeting to mention the old window problem to the shivering ginger man who brought it and was glad to buy without testing the window i even made profit the perfect solution with no messing about with fiddly door panels

had the same problem with mine. The centre pivot on the regulator had become worn and "floppy" didn't shut unless I helped it. The motors are strong so it was a case of removing the whole unit, in the garage on the bench and replacing the pivot with a nut/bolt. The inner door card has to come off then the glass out. Fiddly job but It's held out for almost 2 years, fingers crossed. Failing that a scrap yard replacement. Honda one is also the same.

You may find that the window winder mechanism has moved from it's original position, maybe even elongated the bolt holes. The electric motor is powerful enough to rip the metal as i have had the same problem. Remove the door trim and check the bolt positions. If the metal is ripped then you can pop rivit on a new plate over the old hole of else it's a new door
