Mend Hoover SE 1400 Washing Machine Repair Cleaning

How can I fix my Hoover SE 1400 washing machine?

My Hoover SE 1400 washing machine is not taking the fabric softener. I have tried washing the drawer out and have gave it a good clean but the softener section just fills up with water and doesnt wash away. any help on how to fix this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.
