How do I replace the battery in my Casio Waveceptor Model 2587?

I have been unable to find anyone who can perform this service for me and I feel better qualified to handle this than some of the retail people I've talked to. This watch takes a coin battery #CR1620, which I have. I have successfully removed the back and can see that the battery is held in place by a spring arrangement, which I'm hoping someone can tell me how to navigate so I can release the old battery without damage to the watch. The watch only cost $35, so it's not a catastrophe if this is not do-able. However, I do enjoy the accuracy of this inexpensive "atomic" watch. Thanks.

Hey There, Although I don't have the same watch I am a longtime user of Casio watches and own a Waveceptor databank. When I have to change my battery I use a type of art tack. It's a pin with a head to it. I use that to slip the spring off. Because it is a type of spring there is a lttle finessing to it. I think that if you are able to hook the spring and bend it down it will release it. I think the spring acts as a cover. Remember to keep track which side is positive and negative and if you smudge the new battery with your fingerprints, take the eraser end of a pencil and rub it off. Also if there is what looks like a spring coming up from the bezel you may have to touch that to the battery to activate it. I don't think you have that but just in case. I went to the Casio site and found the manual for your watch but of course they said to bring it to a watch repair service to have the battery replaced. Good Luck.
