janome jem Gold LXE Jammed?

My sewing machine wheel has stopped and it is unable to turn. It was making a wierd noise before it stopped and the thread was bunching up underneath. I altered the tension and that is when it stopped!I am unable to even turn it slightly

Force the balance wheel backwards to unjam the machine, you should be able to get the bobbin case out then.
