Mend Mintek 1500 Button Red Green

Power Button Red but wont turn Green?

Mintek 1500 DVD Player. Red light shows but when pushed will not turn to Green and come on. Remote Controll doesnt make it come on either. What can I do to fix the problem? It was working find until we opened it up to put a DVD tape in and when we closed the door the light turned Red and from that time it will not turn back on to Green and work>
