How to fix Black screen on Mintek model No. 1815?

I can hear the dvd playing, but the screen is black. I connected the dvd player to my tv and I am able to watch the dvd. However, when I change to source to be the dvd player the screen is black. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There is a Video/TFT switch on the side. It must be on TFT for the small screen to work. If it is, the switch contacts are dirty. Go buy some contract cleaner from Radio Shack or Internet, unplug the battery, and spray some cleaner into the slot next the switch leaver. Switch it on and off a few times, and repeat the spray an switch work once again. Attach the battery, place switch in TFT and turn on. Hope that works. It did for me.
