how do I set the timeing on my singer sewing machine model 211G165?

How do I set the timeing on my singer sewing machine model 211G165. I was sewing through a thick layer of material and bent the neele. I replaced the needle and now it will not pick up the bobbin thread. It may not be the timeing, but this is what I think it is. Can you help me please.

Try changing the needle again, make sure you thread the cotton through the side of the needle with the slot.
If your machine is a swing needle type then it is unlikly to be timing that is the problem
