Mend Sony 6CD Ford Player Stuck

How to repair a Ford Mondeo Sony 6cd player stuck in phone mode!?

I have a 53 plate Mondeo Ghia with a Sony 6cd player fitted as standard, a week ago the stereo stopped working and "phone" is displayed on the dispay panel, nothing else works, the cd player let me eject any cd's but will not let me load and none of the buttons respond! The car does have a hands free cradle fitted, not sure if this is relevent!
