Mend Fiat Punto 1.2 16v ELX Wiper

how can i fix my fiat puntos windscreen wiper?

1999 Punto 1.2 16v ELX The wiper has come off the motor arm and can be placed back on it but it soon falls off. there doesnt seem to be a fixing on the other wiper. Is it just wear?

Drill a 3mm hole through the wiper base(where the arm thats fallen off slides on to). Place a large washer on a bolt and pass the bolt up through the hole youve just drilled. Tighten with a stiffnut and the washer will prevent the arm from falling off again.

I have this problem to. Fiat dealers have told me to buy a new kit as well. I am looking at getting one from a scrap yard. It is half the price. But it should be as John Cooper mentioned.
They should provide a part to fix this rather than replace the whole unit. What a ripoff. Definitely not a fiat as a car in this life time.

Seems to be a common fault - Fiats answer purchase a
complete new unit with motor for £125, complain direct to fiat
as the wiper is not of merchantable quality and suitable for
purpose it was sold for. They could at least sell the washer
and clip to repair the problem.
