Alarm Light on my Digistat RF2?

The red alarm light is permenantly on. I understand that the boiler is not receiving the remote signal. How do I sort this?

get new batteries for the stat. take the old ones out, but don't put the new ones in yet. turn the power off to the reciever for about 10 seconds. press the over-ride button to check it activates the heating, after that turn it off again. put the batteries in the stat. press the bottom button then press and hold both buttons for about 5 seconds. the red light should flash rapidly. that should be the remote & sensor talking to each other again.
