Mend Hotpoint 800 Washing Electrical

live on neutral hotpoint 800?

I have a hotpoint first edition 800 washing machine. I fitted a new door switch but theres live on the neutral out let & there should'NT be. Why?

Hello,

Why shouldn't the neutral wire be live? The ground wire should not be but neutral provides the path back to the outlet.
