why wont my mp3 start? (ministry of sound, mosmp020stix)?

ive had my mp3 for a few months and it has always worked fine, however recently when i tried turning it on, it wouldnt. since then i have tried using different batteries, and also tried turning it on again. sometimes it will turn on but only for a minute or two. what could the problem be and how can i fix it?
