Mend Hoover Nextra Wont Tumble Dryer

start button wont latch on nextra tumble dryer?

I have an hoover "nextra" tumble dryer. When i press the on button with the timer set the dryer buzzes and the drum turns but the on button will not latch so the drum stops when you let go of the switch. No warning lights are lit?
