Fiat Palio cutting out?

Hi,
Yesterday my 2003 Fiat Palio cut out as i left the garage after putting some fuel in. The car had a half tank but i filled it up. It spluttered and cut out. I magaged to get it restarted and drove another 200 yards before it cut out again. It would not restart and i phoned a friend to come and tow me home. While waiting for him to arrive it started and ran for a few minutes before cutting out again.
We towed it home and yesteday evening it started and ran for 5 minutes before cutting out. It would not restart. This morning it started and ran but i switched it off and we used my wife's car to go to church.
Please advise what you think could be wrong. I looked under the bonnet while i was stranded but could not see any fault and did not have any tools with me at the time. It seems like a fuel fault. Where would i find this fuel filter as i understand that fuel injected vehicles have a high pressure in line filter.
Please advise.
