How can I fix my sewing machine Singer 201K?

Singer machine 201K, electric, is sewing continuously even when foot pedal is not depressed.

No problem, undo the foot control and you will see what looks like a fuse that goes across the two terminals, it is called a suppressor, take it out and discard it, you do not need it these days, problem solved.
