Mend Maytag MDB4000AWA Dishwasher Blockage Repair

Maytag dishwasher won't drain?

Model # MDB4000AWA...it goes through the whole cycle. washes, etc. dries, etc. but it won't drain the water out. I've taken the plastic ltop off that unscrews but have not delved into the next part with the all the metal screws......should I do that and see if there is a blockage under that part.....my manual shows no solution to this..it's not very helpful at all. Hate to call repairman if it's an easy fix.

Dishes all get cleaned and dried just fine...no wierd sounds, etc. coming from dishwasher.

Hello,

I would start by making sure the drain hose was not kinked. Then I would take off the bottom panel of the dishwasher and pull the drain hose off the pump and check it for blockage. Make sure you have something to catch the water. Hope this helps.
