i have fitted a new coil but still have no spark. i have removed the start cable and mechanism to eliminate it. i have turned it over with the pull cord and plug removed with ht lead held close to the head bolts
I recently had a customers mower in for repair that he had fitted a new coil on and couldn,t get a spark. Turned out he had trapped the kill wire between the engine and the coil so it was earthing out. I dont think for a minute you have done that but disconect the kill wire to rule out the coil being earthed out

Curious one, Darren...only thing I can think of - as the coil is new....are the head bolts painted, providing insulation? The spark only needs to jump the tiniest of gaps - 1mm is more than enough. Try looking for a spark again, with the machine in the dark.
