how can i fix my ignition barrel on beringo van 01 plate?

hi there does anyone know if you can fit a 2nd hand ignition barrel onto a o1 berlingo deisel van? my key got jammed in ignition and took some pulling out only to leave my steering lock stuck on,the van stil starts but had to take barrel part way out to stop steering lock been activated. the key has a chip in it been told need to buy new ignition and lock set and get the keys reset to my van which is about £400. any help would be welcome many thanks adrian.
