Mend Hoover HNL6166 Washing Machine Cycle Electrics

washing machine hoover nextra optima No hnl6166?

I put a load of washing into my machine and shut the door, switched it on, picked a cycle and then pressed the start/pause button. And nothing happened. So I pressed it again and again incase it was on pause, normally it clicks in after a couple of presses but it's not doing anything. The electrics are working because the lights are on, but it doesn't start a cycle and lock the door. Please can anyone help me with what to do?
