asko 7005 dryer?

My asko dryer only runs when holding in the start button as soo as you release it it stops, any ideas as to the fault?

I have an Asko Dryer that randomly would overheat and I would have to push the reset button. I checked blower wheel and exhaust, everything was fine - no lint. I would clean out lint filter after every load and even clean screen with magic erase pad and all looked good. FINALLY, I went to the repairclinic.com website and ordered a new filter and filter holder and it is perfect!! I reused the gray seal that goes around the outside of the filter with the clips because I did not realize it did not come with it and would have cost an additional $43 plus shipping. Have done several drying cycles and no problems. One thing I noticed about my old filter was even though all looked good, if I set it on the counter and held it by the center, it would easily pop off, whereas the new one does not. I assume the problem with the fit affected the airflow and caused the overheating problem. Worth a try for $100 and no service call. If you are having this same problem, it is worth a try.

You might also check the blower and vent , I am working on my daughters dryer, and the blower cage is blocked with lint, she got about a gallon out of the vent tubing (internal) it appers the filter in the door is of minimal effectivenesss.

Your dryer has overheated and has blown the resetable fuse in the back. Locate the reset switch at the center back of the dryer. It will be covered in rubber cover. Press on it and you should hear a click. The dryer should run now. Before you feel good about this it's an indication of a bigger problem. Mine was that the exhaust vent had a birds nest in it and was causing the dryer to overheat. You need to fix the source of the problem or this will happen again and could cause a fire. Not good.
