WHEN SPINNING IT MAKES A RATTELING SOUND AND THE DRUM SEEMS TO HAVE FALLEN DOWN A LITTLE

Almost sure the bearings and probably the drum support assembly are gone. Worth paying up to about £100 to get it repaired if it's in good condition otherwise as they "don't make 'em like that any more". (Unless you spend a lot of money). On the other hand a new machine would have a faster spin.
