heat shield?

i have a multipoint water heater with a balanced flue ,
i am just having the house facias and soffits done in uvpc and i was thinking of putting some type of heat deflector above the flue so no direct heat hits the covered soffits to stop any heat dscoloration.is it a sensible idea and where would i get a heat shieild from
